It uses wholesome ingredients like olive oil and honey for a healthier option. Perfect for beginners, it creates a professional-grade artisan finish without the need for a conventional oven.
Ingredients
3 cups All-Purpose or Bread Flour
1 cup Warm Water (about 105°F)
2 and 1/4 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
1 tablespoon Raw Honey
2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 teaspoon Sea Salt
Instructions
- In a large glass bowl, combine the warm water, raw honey, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes until frothy
- Add the extra virgin olive oil and sea salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually stir in the flour, one cup at a time, until a shaggy dough forms
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic
- Lightly coat a bowl with olive oil, place the dough inside, and cover it with a warm, damp cloth. Let it rise for 30 to 45 minutes until doubled in size
- Gently punch down the risen dough and shape it into a round or oval loaf
- Place the shaped dough on parchment paper and allow it to rest for another 15 to 20 minutes, optionally scoring the top
- Preheat air fryer to 320°F (160°C) and bake the loaf for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding
- Let the bread cool on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing
Notes
Ensure the water temperature is around 105°F to activate the yeast properly.
Avoid overcrowding the air fryer for the best crust quality.
