Description

This Ground Beef Cabbage Stir-Fry delivers an explosion of umami flavor and satisfying textures that will make you forget you are eating a healthy meal. It's designed to highlight the natural sweetness of caramelized cabbage paired with rich, savory grass-fed beef, balanced with salt, acid, and heat.

Ingredients

Scale

1.5 lbs Grass-Fed Ground Beef
1 medium head Green Cabbage
2 tablespoons Avocado Oil
1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger, minced
4 cloves Fresh Garlic, minced
1/4 cup Coconut Aminos
1 tablespoon Toasted Sesame Oil
1 tablespoon Raw Honey or Maple Syrup
1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
3 stalks Green Onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Aromatics: Mince the garlic and ginger finely. Slice the green onions, separating the white bottoms from the green tops. Shred the cabbage into 1/4 inch ribbons
  2. Sear the Beef: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat with one tablespoon of avocado oil. Add the ground beef, breaking it into large chunks and allowing it to sit undisturbed for 3 minutes
  3. Drain and Set Aside: Once the beef is fully browned, remove it from the pan and drain excess fat
  4. Sauté the Aromatics: In the same pan, add the remaining avocado oil. Toss in the garlic, ginger, and the white parts of the green onions. Sauté for 60 seconds
  5. Wilt the Cabbage: Add shredded cabbage in batches, tossing frequently until softened but still slightly crisp, about 5 to 7 minutes
  6. Combine and Glaze: Return the cooked beef to the pan with the cabbage and pour in the coconut aminos, honey (or maple syrup), toasted sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Toss together for 2 minutes
  7. Final Garnish: Remove from heat, stir in the green parts of the onions and serve immediately

Notes

Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor.

If using leaner meat, add more avocado oil to prevent dryness.

Store leftovers in airtight containers for up to 4 days.
