This No-Added-Sugar Healthy Banana Bread is a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional banana bread, made with overripe bananas for natural sweetness and wholesome ingredients for a moist, tender texture.
Ingredients
3 large Overripe Bananas
1/2 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Melted Coconut Oil
1/4 cup Pure Maple Syrup or Honey
2 large Eggs
1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
1 3/4 cups Whole Wheat Flour or Oat Flour
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamo
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (165 degrees Celsius) and grease a standard 9×5 inch loaf pa
- Mash the overripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until mostly smooth
- Whisk in the melted coconut oil (or olive oil) and maple syrup, then add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract until smooth
- Gently fold in the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and sea salt until just combined
- If using mix-ins (nuts or chocolate chips), fold them in gently
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55 to 65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clea
- Cool the banana bread in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack
Notes
Using overripe bananas ensures natural sweetness and moisture.
To make it vegan, substitute eggs with flax eggs (2 tablespoons ground flaxseed mixed with 6 tablespoons water).
