Description

This Slow Cooker Turkey Chili captures the essence of comfort with its vibrant colors and rich, velvety texture. Ingredients

2 lbs Ground Turkey (Lean)
2 tbsp Avocado Oil
1 large Yellow Onion (Diced)
2 large Red and Green Bell Peppers
4 cloves Garlic (Minced)
15 oz Kidney Beans (Rinsed)
15 oz Black Beans (Rinsed)
28 oz Diced Tomatoes (Fire-Roasted)
3 tbsp Tomato Paste
3 tbsp Chili Powder
1 tbsp Ground Cumi
1 tsp Smoked Paprika
1 tsp Dried Oregano
1 tbsp Honey or Maple Syrup
1 cup Beef or Vegetable Broth
Salt and Black Pepper (To taste)


Instructions

  1. Sear the Ground Turkey in a skillet with Avocado Oil until browned
  2. Sauté the diced Yellow Onion and Red and Green Bell Peppers until softened
  3. Add minced Garlic and cook for 60 seconds
  4. Bloom the spices: stir in Chili Powder, Ground Cumin, Smoked Paprika, and Dried Oregano
  5. Transfer everything to a slow cooker and add Diced Tomatoes, Tomato Paste, rinsed Kidney Beans, Black Beans, Honey, and Broth. Stir to combine
  6. Cover and cook on Low for 4 to 6 hours or on High for 2 to 3 hours
  7. Adjust seasoning before serving and garnish with fresh cilantro and avocado

Notes

For a thicker chili, mash some of the beans before serving.
