Ingredients
1 lb Grass-fed Ground Beef
1 tablespoon Avocado Oil
1 medium Yellow Onio
3 cloves Fresh Garlic
2 tablespoons Chili Powder
1 teaspoon Ground Cumi
1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
1/2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
1 teaspoon Sea Salt
1 tablespoon Tomato Paste
1/2 cup Beef Bone Broth
1 teaspoon Honey
1 tablespoon Lime Juice
Instructions
- Place a large cast-iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat. Add Avocado Oil and allow it to shimmer
- Add diced Yellow Onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent
- Increase heat slightly and add the Ground Beef. Break into small crumbles and let sit undisturbed for 2 minutes
- Stir and continue cooking until no pink remains
- Lower heat to medium and add minced Fresh Garlic. Cook for 30-60 seconds
- Add Chili Powder, Ground Cumin, Smoked Paprika, Cayenne Pepper, and Sea Salt onto the meat. Stir well for about 2 minutes
- Stir in Tomato Paste and cook for one minute. Pour in Beef Bone Broth and Honey, stirring to combine
- Let the mixture simmer gently for 5-7 minutes until saucy
- Turn off the heat and stir in Lime Juice
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute Ground Beef with Ground Turkey or Chicken.
For grain-free options, use large Butter Lettuce leaves or Jicama wraps instead of tortillas.
