Ingredients
1 large head Fresh Broccoli Florets (about 4–5 cups), cut into bite-sized florets
2 tablespoons Olive Oil
4 cloves Garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger, grated
1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (or more, to taste)
3 tablespoons Low-Sodium Soy Sauce or Tamari
1 tablespoon Rice Vinegar
1 tablespoon Maple Syrup or Honey
1 teaspoon Toasted Sesame Oil
1/4 cup Water or Vegetable Broth
Sesame Seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients: Wash and thoroughly dry the broccoli and cut into bite-sized florets. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger. Whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, maple syrup (or honey), water (or broth), and red pepper flakes in a small bowl; set aside
- Heat the skillet: Place a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and let it shimmer
- Sauté aromatics: Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the hot oil and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant
- Add broccoli: Toss the broccoli florets into the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until slightly charred and tender-crisp
- Pour in the sauce: Stir the sauce and pour it over the broccoli in the skillet. Bring to a simmer
- Cook to perfection: Cover the skillet and let the broccoli steam for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp
- Finish and serve: Remove from heat, stir in the toasted sesame oil, and adjust seasonings if needed. Garnish with sesame seeds if using and serve immediately
Notes
Always taste the sauce before adding to the skillet and adjust spice/sweetness to your preference.
