1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger, grated
2–3 cloves Garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Arrowroot Starch (or Cornstarch)
½ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (or to taste)
1–2 tablespoons Olive Oil (or Avocado Oil)
Sesame Seeds, for garnish
Green Onions, for garnish, sliced
Instructions
- Press the Tofu: Slice tofu into 1-inch thick slabs, place between paper towels, weigh down, and press for 30 minutes to 2 hours

- Cut & Marinate: Cube the pressed tofu and marinate in half of the sauce for 15-30 minutes
- Preheat & Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet
- Roast the Tofu: Arrange marinated tofu on the baking sheet and drizzle with oil. Roast for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway
- Prepare the Sticky Glaze: Mix arrowroot starch with water, combine with reserved sauce
- Glaze & Finish Roasting: Pour glaze over tofu, toss to coat, and roast for an additional 10-15 minutes until sticky
- Garnish & Serve: Remove from oven, garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, and serve
Notes
Pressing the tofu is critical for achieving the right texture.
Marinate for a longer period if time permits for deeper flavor.
